Types of Collars
Graphite Delight Pawtraits makes a range of dog collars, catering for pretty much all breeds and requirements.
The different types of collars are detailed below. We do 1, 1.5 and 2 inch collars in a variety of designs.
MARTINGALE COLLARS
Traditionally designed for sighthounds because their necks are of a similar size to their heads meaning they can often slip out of a buckle collar. It is a non-opening collar, consisting of a large loop and a smaller loop. When the dog tries to pull, the tension will pull the small loop taut, making the larger loop smaller and close around the neck, which helps prevent escaping and backing out of their collar, without the choking effect of the standard slip collar. They will fit to the exact size of the dog’s neck when the collar is pulled. A properly fitted martingale will fit snuggly around the dog’s neck, just behind the ears, until the pressure is released. It will be comfortably loose when not in use.
HALF MARTINGALE COLLARS
Half martingale collars work the same way as above, but the martigale loop is a thinner. When the small martingale loop is pulled, the two large d-rings will close together without choking your dog.
CLIP COLLARS
Clip Collars are attached around your dogs neck using a black curved side release clip that contours your dogs neck for maximum comfort. Can also be used as house collars.
